lyrics
A great message does not begin at the tip of a sword.
Your tolerance has bred obscene arrogance.
Don't waste your prayers on me.
I can't feel anything. I can't feel anything.
I'm barely human. I've given up on life.
There is nothing behind my smile. There is nothing left to save.
I have no answers...no fingerprints...no trace at all.
All my angels turned to ash, and I wish I could forget everything I learned.
From my window, I can see the dead hopes and dreams.
I don't think I want to find a better place.
I don't think I ever want to find a better place.
Hearing the songs while reading the narrative behind the lyrics, I felt overwhelmed by this tragic story in which humans and artificial intelligence couldn't coexist side by side. Their reciprocal annihilation was inevitable. Except one "sole survivor, in a ship filled with memories. She had become the proof of Earth, proof that life had existed there, a voice for all the species and beauty we once knew". A dystopian concept dressed up in brilliant musicianship! @Slevin, thanks, I owe it to you! Umbra Cornuta
Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. sachavonkarl74
